C.M. McCoy – Final Countdown Takeover Author #5

ColleenTakeover

Good morning, and welcome to Day 5 as I count down to THE FINAL COUNTDOWN AUTHOR RELEASE PARTY on JANUARY 18th from NOON UNTIL 6:00  PM!  This morning I’m super excited to introduce to you a phenomenal author who I’ve been blessed to know for only a short while, C.M. McCoy.  Colleen, as she’s known to her friends, is the author of the recently released New Adult/Paranormal novel, Eerie.  Just take a look at the cover — it’s gorgeous!

biopicHaving only recently met Colleen, I’m getting to know her right along with all of you, but I already know this much about her:  she’s fun, energetic, and she’s someone who lends a helping hand when another is in need.  And, quite frankly, I was that “someone” in need last week when I ran short an author for my team of Takeover Authors.  I was frantic!  I’d just “met” Colleen online through one of the Facebook groups we both belong to, and I just took a leap:  “Can you please help me with this?” I asked.  She didn’t hesitate.  I think her response was something along the lines of (paraphrased), “Oh I love Author Takeovers!  It’s like planning a wedding!”  And ya know what?  She was absolutely right!  Planning this event has been just like planning a wedding…I wanted everything to be perfect, and Colleen stepped in at the last minute to ensure that it would be. So huge thanks to Colleen!

Let me tell you a little bit about Colleen, the author.

From her Author Bio:

C.M. McCoy is an Irish dancer and former Air Force officer living in the Great White North. Though B.S.’d in Chemical Engineering and German, she’s far happier writing stories involving Alaska and a body bag (with an awkward kiss in the mix.) While working emergency dispatch for Alaska State Troopers, she learned to speak in 10-codes, which she still does…but only to annoy her family.

I’m not gonna lie — I’m impressed!  As if a degree in Chemical Engineering isn’t challenging enough, she also has a degree in German and has gone on to publish a book?  And though it’s one been out a short while, it’s getting rave reviews!  Here’s a sampling of what some reviewers are saying:

“EERIE, full of voice and romance, is a thrilling and beautifully crafted story that had me up late, racing through the pages to get to the end.”
Thief of Lies Author Brenda Drake

“5 stars! I felt there was a mash-up between Hogwarts, Xavier Institute for Exceptional Youngsters, and Beauty and the Beast, AND I LOVED IT! The creatures, the classes, the college, the Middle of Nowhere! How awesome!”
~ Truth About Books by A. Fae on EERIE

“I would definitely buy this series. I really loved these characters. It read very quickly, and the Alaska jokes really got me giggling.
Confessions of a Book Whore, Jamie S. on EERIE

I can’t claim to know anything about the other reviewers, but I do know Brenda Drake and, if Brenda says it’s “beautifully crafted,” then I’m totally going to read it!

So what’s Eerie about?  First take a look at the back of the book jacket, and then read the synopsis!

Teaser-3

Eerie
(Synopsis)

Being a ParaScience freshman is a nightmare come true

Hailey’s dreams have always been, well…vivid. As in monsters from her nightmares follow her into her waking life vivid. When her big sister goes missing, eighteen-year-old Hailey finds the only thing keeping her safe from a murderous 3,000-year old beast is an equally terrifying creature who’s fallen “madly” in love with her. Competing to win her affection, the Dream Creature, Asher, lures her to the one place that offers safety—a ParaScience university in Alaska he calls home. There, she studies the science of the supernatural and must learn to live with a roommate from Hell, survive a tunneling earworm, extract a carnivorous splinter, evade the campus poltergeists, and hope the only creature who can save her from an evil immortal doesn’t decide to kill her himself.

If you’re not ready to add it to your Goodreads reading list, what’s holding you up!

31-KeAgiy8LAs we celebrate the release of The Edge of Nowhere with THE FINAL COUNTDOWN AUTHOR TAKEOVER PARTY, Colleen will take over from 2:30 to 3:00 PM.  As a door prize, she’s offering a gorgeous “Edge of Nowhere” Claddagh ring of sterling silver in the winner’s size (similar to the on the right).  In addition, I’ve learned that Colleen has a particularly unhealthy addiction to giveaways, so you should watch her posts closely as she hosts this event.  Look for gift card giveaways in her posts, and flash giveaways of swag and eBooks in the comments of her posts.  You never quite know where you’ll find them when Colleen is in the room!

Remember:  THE FINAL COUNTDOWN AUTHOR TAKEOVER EVENT IS ON JANUARY 18TH FROM NOON UNTIL 6:00 PM.  Be sure to pop in from 2:30 to 3:00 PM to see what Colleen’s up to — I have a feeling she’ll be up to no end of mischief!

Come for 5 minutes or stay for all day.  What could really be better than 12 published authors, all in the same room talking books and giving away prizes?

In the meantime, take a minute to find  C.M. McCoy on social media and get to know her. I’m already a fan!
