BIO

CHArmstrongC.H. (Cathie) Armstrong is a prolific reader and writer, spending most of her days either reading the newest releases from her favorite authors, or committing words to paper either in the form of her next novel or in an effort to provide assistance to various non-profits in her community.

A 1992 graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Cathie holds a B.A. in Journalism with a Minor in History.  It was through her time as a member of the El Reno Tribune Explorer Troupe in high school that she realized her love for writing.  With the encouragement of Tribune publisher, Ray Dyer, she decided to pursue journalism as a major.

Cathie’s first professional writing experience came after her college graduation when she took a position at IBM and was given the task of writing the ISO 9000 process documentation for the AS/400 Support Center.  Since then, she’s spent the last 20 years in a variety of writing and editing capacities for various non-profit organizations including Rochester Area Gymnastics Academy, Aldrich Memorial Nursery School, and Friends of the Rochester Public Library.

Though Cathie has spent all of her adult life writing nonfiction, it wasn’t until January 2014 when she dedicated her efforts to her first work of fiction. The result was the 2016 release of her novel, The Edge of Nowhere, loosely inspired by her family’s struggles during the 1930s Dust Bowl and The Great Depression.

CONTACT: QueryTinaP@ThePurcellAgency.com

SYNOPSIS

SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY meets TO WONG FOO in this laugh-out-loud romantic suspense comedy about a young woman’s journey toward regaining her own empowerment.

Complete at 94K words, WILLOW IN THE WIND is filled with zany characters including a Polish, Polka Dancing, gun-toting, cigar smoking octogenarian reminiscent of Grandma Mazur from the Stephanie Plum series, a few talented drag queens, and a too-hot-to handle ex-cop.

Willow Moser lost herself somewhere between her husband’s dirty laundry and her endless “To Do List.” Once a promising young dancer with plans for opening her own studio, today her only dancing is at her husband’s must-attend charity events.

Married right out of high school, Willow makes compromises in the interests of what she believes makes a happy marriage. For 7 years, she’s tiptoed around her husband’s mood swings, manipulation, and abuse. But when she discovers he’s also a lying, cheating dirtbag with a child he never thought to mention—a child conceived during their marriage—she wants out. With the help of her neighbor, Paulette, she escapes to Wyoming in hopes of starting a new life.

Now Willow is in the wind—so far from her husband, Matt, he’ll never find her. Or will he? When she learns of the mysterious death of her husband’s former lover, she wonders if she might be next.

C.H. Armstrong’s 2019 title, ROAM, was named #3 on the Oklahoma Bestseller List in the category of Children and Young Adult fiction, and also achieved #1 on Amazon’s Bestselling list on multiple occasions. Her previous title, THE EDGE OF NOWHERE, is also a fan favorite and was flagged as “refreshing and devastating” by Oklahoma’s premier newspaper, The Oklahoman. Armstrong maintains a strong social-media presence with a very interactive fan base.
