C.H. (Cathie) Armstrong is a prolific reader and writer, spending most of her days either reading the newest releases from her favorite authors, or committing words to paper either in the form of her next novel or in an effort to provide assistance to various non-profits in her community.
A 1992 graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Cathie holds a B.A. in Journalism with a Minor in History. It was through her time as a member of the El Reno Tribune Explorer Troupe in high school that she realized her love for writing. With the encouragement of Tribune publisher, Ray Dyer, she decided to pursue journalism as a major.
Cathie’s first professional writing experience came after her college graduation when she took a position at IBM and was given the task of writing the ISO 9000 process documentation for the AS/400 Support Center. Since then, she’s spent the last 20 years in a variety of writing and editing capacities for various non-profit organizations including Rochester Area Gymnastics Academy, Aldrich Memorial Nursery School, and Friends of the Rochester Public Library.
Though Cathie has spent all of her adult life writing nonfiction, it wasn’t until January 2014 when she dedicated her efforts to her first work of fiction. The result was the 2016 release of her novel, The Edge of Nowhere, loosely inspired by her family’s struggles during the 1930s Dust Bowl and The Great Depression.
