Dear Friends:
It’s been a while since I’ve posted on this blog. I’ve not died or become MIA; I’ve just been super busy with way too much on my plate and not enough time to sit down and think about what I want to write. Things will get easier once school begins and I send my kids off to school. At that time, I’ll have a few hours of complete silence each day, and more time on my hands than I need to “think” about things. For now, though, know that I’m still around and I’ll be back next month with regular blogs.
Because I can’t resist giving you a little insight into my life, I’ll leave you with a recent phone conversation with my mom to tide you over…Enjoy.

This weekend I was having a phone conversation with my 81 year old mom. It was a pretty one-sided conversation. She was talking and I was occasionally throwing an “uh huh,” or “okay,” or “wow” as I pretended to be fully involved in the conversation while what I was really doing was reading and posting on Facebook. Finally she said something that required my full attention:
“What happened to your globs?” my mom asked. “I haven’t seen one from you in a while.”
“Huh?” I asked.
“Your globs. You haven’t written one in quite some time. I really enjoy them and read them every day.”
With my attention still only half-engaged, I responded, “Mom, what in the world are you talking about? What are globs?”
“Catherine,” she said with a huff and no small amount of irritation. And I knew I was in trouble because she used “Catherine” rather than my typical moniker. “Your GLOB. You know…when you write about the kids and the silly things y’all do?”
“OHHHHH!” I said giggling. “You mean my BLOG! B-L-O-G…not GLOB. B first, then G. Buh–lah-guh. Blog. Seriously, Mom?”
“Oh well…same difference,” she responded.
Good lord! I knew my children got it from somewhere!
