Sweet!

It’s What the…What? Wednesday, and oh-boy do I have a fun one for you today!  I’ve been sitting on this one for a whole week now and the desire to share this one has been killing me!  I hope y’all enjoy it every bit as much as I did!!!

If you’ve read many of my blogs, you know that I’m a displaced Oklahoman living in Minnesota.  Everyone who knows me knows that I’m terribly homesick, and so people go out of their way to bring me news from home.  Last Wednesday, one of my Minnesota friends posted a video on my Facebook wall of a news story right from my hometown Oklahoma TV Station.  Apparently an Oklahoma City apartment building went up in flames, prompting the news team to run a story on it but – more importantly – to interview amazingly charismatic Oklahoma City resident, Sweet Brown.

This first video is the actual news story that ran on KFOR-TV out of Oklahoma City.

I can’t even begin to imagine the humor and jokes flying around the editing room on this one.  I’m seriously not sure how the anchor kept a straight face as she ran the story…I know I wouldn’t had been able to keep a straight face!

As if the original interview wasn’t amusing enough, those with wayyyy more time on their hands than I have came up with a creative music video spoof that has to be seen to be believed!  I have to admit that I’m not sure which I find more enjoyable; the original interview with the fire survivor, or the music video it inspired.

Both YouTube videos have gone viral, making Sweet Brown a local and internet celebrity.  If you’re wondering what she thinks of her new-found fame, you can follow the link below for the follow-up story and interview with Sweet Brown.

This might be the best news story I’ve seen all year…so go forth and share, my friends!
